Ain’t No Gold//Poem

There ain’t much gold left

Inside, it's been collected and

melted, you won’t find the

Heart of Gold in me no

More it was shattered like

Glass, Glass that became broken,

Broken when a wave comes to

Shore, There ain’t no gold

On me it all fell off, off

Like when a newborn bird

First learns to fly, fly high

Sweet bird and never let

The gold go when you let your

Chirp be heard in the early

Mornings and far in the

Afternoon

There ain’t no gold, in my

River no more it was all used

Up cause nothing was exchanged

For my gold in return , now my river

Flows without its gold, hold

The white flag high we’ve fallen

Into vulnerability, there

Ain’t no gold no more, more

If only I had received what I gave in

Return…Ain’t no gold more, my

River dried up, dried up like a

Desert, but hold on for now

Gold will return soon…
