Another research shines light on a grimmer reality, as it shows that women with high–risk pregnancies who are forced to carry it to term due to abortion bans are increasing mortality, with pregnancy – related deaths superseding at rates dozen times higher than abortion related death.
According to the CDC in a 2024 report shows the U.S maternal mortality rate of 17.9 deaths per 100,000 births. But the further we investigate the report we find a deeper truth as black women make up 44.8 deaths per 100,000—far higher than other groups.
All the while women 40+ face a mortality rate 5x higher than women under the age of 25.
In the State of Georgia, a woman was arrested and charged with murder, in the alleged report police state that the women used abortion pills to end her pregnancy.
But as medical experts emphasize the danger of criminalizing the danger of pregnancy outcomes, they say that self—managed abortions are medically safe.
But warn that the criminalization discourages women from seeking medical care and are opposed to prosecuting patients.
Georgia is the leading example when law and the right of a fetus collide and override the rights of a patient, most of all a mother in need of what her nation promised years ago.
So, in understanding of the dire consequences of humanity’s attempt to be of “Pro-life” and in the endless grab to strip a women’s body of its dignity even in death when the interest of a group or the interest of government becomes the priority do we fail to see the middle man or should we dare to say the mother that is, has and would’ve been.
A mother whose children are now left to be cared for by family and to be raised without their mother’s love. For it appears to have been forgotten that all children are our children, yet these United States Of America and its institutions are faltering in the promises of Our Founding Fathers and are playing at God with a creation that’s not ours to shape. It is in this declaration do I challenge these United States of America to address the challenges ahead in a nation and world without Roe v. Wade.
But to address the mounting grievances, wrongdoings, and loss of life that seems to be doing more harm than doing right for the common good. We must see that what is being done in the name of ‘life’ is taking life, breaking families, and wounding the very people this nation promised to protect. Do not answer these questions just for our democracy and our continuous search for a more perfect union but answer to ensure our prosperity and our light will continue to shine upon the world.
For we so boldly claim ourselves as “The City Upon The Hill.”
