Summary:
Establishes a comprehensive framework to improve compensation and working conditions for teachers, teacher assistants, and instructional support staff across California.
Increases base pay in high-need districts, establishes minimum compensation standards for teacher assistants, and provides cost-of-living adjustments tied to regional housing costs. Reduces educator burnout by limiting excessive workloads, expanding planning time, and decreasing non-instructional administrative burdens.
Expands access to mental health and wellness support for educators. Requires transparency, oversight, and public reporting on educator retention and compensation outcomes.
